West from Melbourne
Eastern Beach Geelong
A popular place with families who like the calm sea baths and childrens pool and while the Geelong foreshore may not be the most naturally beautiful beach on this list, for locals and if you are in Melbournes western suburbs it is convenient. And on a calm and balmy summers night its a great place for a swim and an icecream!
Barwon Heads River Mouth
On a still summers day the Barwon Heads river near the bridge in Barwon Heads becomes a sparkling playground for swimmers, stand up paddle boards and canoes and small boats.
Thirteenth Beach
A beautiful beach, particulary at low tide you can walk for km’s along this beach. There are little carparks along the road and the beach is access via steps in most entrances, which usually have little platforms for viewing the beach.
This is also a very popular surf beach when the conditions are right and on those days you might struggle to get a carpark!
Pt Addis – Addiscot Beach
A truly stunning beach with dramatic cliffs, head left along the beach for a beach walk* or turn right to explore the rockpool at the point at low tide.
*The far end of this beach is clothing optional so don’t walk to far if you would prefer not to see nudity.
Point Roadknight
A much loved popular family beach, on a still day point roadknight can be a sheltered little haven but other times it has a little wave popular with learn to surf groups and stand up paddle boarders.

A beautiful National Park with a range of beaches from tiny bays to rugged surf beaches, Wilsons Promontory is worth a visit for so many reasons.
The beach at tidal river can be access by foot and you can also hire a beach wheelchair from tidal river and a the rest of the beaches are accessible over various length walks from short to multi day.
