Clubhouse Restaurant on Dent Island - A Hamilton Island food adventure

In 2025 we went on a multigenerational family holiday to Hamilton Island (paid for courtesy of my tax return which was big because of unplanned unemployment for part of the year sadly).

The last time I visited dunk Island was 11 years ago on my 30th birthday Hamilton Island trip where we regaled the staff with our op-shop golf attire and subsequent non golfers attempting to golf shenanigans.

This time round I was old and boring but I knew the boat drive which was a lovely surprise and a throw back to the fact that once you work in the resort circuit you will run into your friends all over the country for years to come!

Anyway now I've given you my life background and the context that I'm far from rich and currently closer to the tax free threshold income than I would like here is some photos of the beautiful experience that was lunch at Dunk Island.

The Journey

You get to the Clubhouse Restaurant on a boat from a special dock at the Marina. You don't have to be playing golf to book in for lunch though it is designed to be in time blocks to accommodate for this.

For the return journey it was a little confusing to know what time we would have to leave the restaurant as we were still only 1 course in as the time approached but we weren't rushed out and caught a boat that lined up with the end of our meal.

The Views

The views are truly spectacular it was lovely day and we were seated outside on a big long table (which also helped keep our noisy chaos away from other diners) but the views inside are just as good from many places.

The Food

The restaurant is a multi course menu experience where you choose from an entree and main or main and dessert (though you can pay a little extra for all three).

This was the menu being served in October 2025, keep in mind prices and menu will likely change if your reading this in the future.

The Cons

The only downside of the experience was that they couldn't figure out how to charge my part of the meal to the room (with my low income budgeted prepaid room credit) which left me in an awkward situation where family had to pay for me. Not a problem for most visitors to Hamilton Island I'm sure but left me feeling wanting :/

In Summary

A wonderful food adventure that was worth the price as it feels like lunch and boat/tour all in one!
