National Parks, Bushwalks & Wildlife in the Australian Capital Territory

Canberra and the ACT actually boast a large number of urban reserves as well as access to beautiful natural areas.

Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve

The Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve (opens the official government parks page) is a fantastic place to spot wildlife, have a bbq or picnic or go for a walk. There is an information centre to learn about the area, the playground is popular with families and there are several wheelchair accessible spots to visit.

Namadgi National Park

If you love a bushwalk or a challenge Namadgi National Park offers 100’s of kms of walking tracks. It’s Alpine and Sub Alpine so its important you familirise yourself with the park and its safety information at the government page for Namadgi.
